United Nations Day

As the epitome of international cooperation and global communication, the UN has marked October 24th as a holiday since 1948.  The UN Charter officially went into force on October 24, 1945 after ratification by the majority of the UN signatories (including the five permanent members of the Security Council).  Visit http://www.un.org/en/events/unday/ for more information.
