Veteran's Day November 11, 2016

Veteran’s Day honors anyone who has served in the US Military -  veterans and today’s service members alike, who have dedicated themselves to protect the interests, security and rights of the American people.

Originally named Armistice Day, a peace treaty was signed on November 11, 1918, by the Allies and Germany and marked the end of World War I. Woodrow Wilson proclaimed that this day would always honor the brave service members who fought for the freedom of all people. Veteran’s Day is now a federal holiday, which leaves us to not just rest, but to participate in local events honoring our servicemen and women.

At Paragon we proudly honor the memory of Bert Mintz, husband of Paragon’s CEO Hanne Mintz, and a true American hero.  Bert served in World War II, in the 10th Armored Division in Patton’s 3rd Army, where he fought and was wounded in action in the Battle of the Bulge. There he earned the Purple Heart, the Bronze Star for bravery, and his most treasured award, the Combat Infantry Badge, while protecting his own troops in the face of fierce battle.

Stand in solidarity with your veterans and check out this list of events from TimeOut. Paragon would like to personally thank all veterans and today’s service members for their service and many sacrifices.
